Garnet’s dream to become a racing driver started when he was 3 years of age when he began spending weekends at race tracks watching his father race his historic Charger touring car. It didn’t take long before he was old enough to start helping his father prepare his charger for his race meetings.
Garnet got his first taste of driving in a go kart at the age of 5, at his uncles farm which provided great opportunity to gain good kart and car control techniques in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Being brought up in the country, Garnet was able to gain valuable experience driving manual cars around the farm paddocks at an early age. At 11 years of age, Garnet was given the opportunity to race a go kart at the local kart rack in Tamworth and instantly knew from that day on, this was something he wanted to pursue.
